What is Chapter?
Chapter is nothing but an eChapter. The eChapter service enables you to purchase selective chapter/s from the content list of the eBook. You can view/print selective chapters as determined appropriate by your reference needs. The eChapters are available DX Reader format to read online or Adobe PDF, which can then be downloaded onto your PC.

What are the advantages of subscribing to chapters?
The advantages of subscribing to chapters are: -
- You can subscribe to only the chapters requisite for your research needs instead of buying or subscribing to the whole book. (DX Format)
- User can print contents of the chapter by clicking on the Print icon on the DX Reader application bar.

What are the system requirements for using the eChapter service?
eChapter service gives you an instant access to the content directly from the versatile DX Reader. The DX Reader uses advanced XML and CSS techniques, requiring browser version IE 5.5 & above or Netscape 7 & above for PCs and Netscape 7.1 & above and Safari Version 1.2.2 for Macs.

How do I access and download previously purchased eBooks from my account?
- From our home page, click on My DEL in the top right side.
- This will take you to the My DEL sign-in page.
- Enter your username and password and click on Log In.
- If you are an Individual User you will now see a page with the following facilities:
- Online DX Reader – Click on this link to view the online access shelf, which gives you the list of chapters that you’ve purchased along with the start date and end date. Here click on Read Online to open DX Reader.
- Adobe PDF - Click on this link to view the PDF download access shelf, which gives you the list of chapters that you’ve purchased along with the start date and end date. Here click on Download to one-time download the file onto your computer.
- If you are an Institutional User, browse the chapter on your choice from “Choose A Topic” section and then click on the title of the chapter. This will launch the DX Reader and you can read the chapter online.

If I purchase a wrong chapter, can I get a refund?
No, once the chapter is purchased you cannot cancel and hence it cannot be refunded. The ‘Sample Preview’ feature allows you to read through the sample pages of the book before purchasing the chapter/s of the book. Hence, it is assumed that you have made an informed choice.

How can I print the purchased eChapters?
All your purchased chapters can be printed from the DX Reader or Adobe Reader.
To print the chapters: -
Click on Read Online for Individual Subscriber or on the Title of the chapter for an Institutional Subscriber, to open the book in the DX Reader format.
Click on the Print icon from the DX Reader tool bar. You can print the chapter, page-by-page or print chapter.
Click on Print chapter, to print the chapter including the Book Front Matter i.e. Cover, Title page, Copyright page and the Chapter Matter.
Click on Print Page, to print page of the chapter displayed.

What format will my chapter be in? Can I choose the format?
The chapter purchased to read online opens in DX Reader format and the downloadable version available only to Individual subscribers is in Adobe PDF format; hence it is not possible to make your format selection.

If I lose my chapters, will I be charged for another download?
As an Individual Subscriber you can download your chapters from your account in PDF format only once and hence you must store the file very carefully. If you lose the chapter you will have to re-purchase the chapter. For more information about downloading your chapters from your account contact Customer Support.

Can I purchase an chapter in both the formats at the same time?
No, you cannot purchase the chapter in both formats at the same time. After you purchase in one format then you can purchase in the other format.

How many times I can print the purchased chapter?
You may print the chapters you have subscribed to any number of times till the expiration date.

Where can I get the list of chapters?
On the Homepage, go to the link About DEL. From the drop-down box you have the choice to either view the list of chapters alphabetically or topicwise.

Can I view more than one chapter simultaneously?
When reading online in DX Reader, you cannot open more than one chapter at the same time. Offline it is possible.
